French toast and chitchat at Floyd’s in Dalston

Floyds

Since opening earlier this year Floyd’s has fast become my new favourite place for a weekend brunch or lunch. The food is delicious, the prices reasonable, and the service relaxed but friendly. It’s a cleverly used space, with lots of little curiosities to catch your eye – from shelves lined with interesting books to the pretty flowers on each table. I love nothing more than meeting friends there on a Sunday morning and spending a few hours catching up over a plate of something lovely. The French toast is an extra special weekend indulgence.

Tucked away down a back street in Dalston, it’s a welcome addition to the burgeoning café culture in the area. They are also open for dinner in the evenings and have a bar that serves great cocktails.
